Re “2 Drinks, or not to drink,” Ryan Stelter, (Jan. 21): It is dangerous for Ryan Stelter to be so honest in his opening paragraph. The Winnipeg Sun thrives on the belief of an evil entity (usually Liberals) coming to take something away from citizens: freedoms, rights, guns, culture, booze, etc. To challenge this illusion may destroy the comforting beliefs of many readers. I applaud him, nonetheless, for being so forthcoming.

Paul Robertson

Except in the case of guns, it is the Liberals coming to take them from citizens.

Go on, go green

The latest nonsense from the green zealots is to ban natural gas stoves. What I find particularly annoying, is these Canadian advocates came to this conclusion following the announcement made by Joe Biden, who we all know is an authority on nothing. I challenge all the eco-terrorists to divest themselves of all their hydrocarbon paraphernalia, and they will quickly see that the emperor has no clothes.

J.D. Round

When will this self-destructive garbage end?

Singh the hypocrite

Can Jagmeet Singh really be taken seriously when on the one hand he outrightly condemns Trudeau for this and his failure to address the health-care crises, while on the other he shamelessly continues to prop him up so he can cause even more harm? Singh keeps coming across as being completely disingenuous and hypocritical. The NDP has always claimed to be the great defender of the working class. Yet Singh readily joined with Trudeau in dehumanizing the hard-working truckers in the “Freedom Convoy”. Singh seems impressed about being “kingmaker”, but could be destroying the NDP by his continuing bromance with Trudeau. Is it any wonder Canadians do not trust politicians like Singh who preach one thing while doing the exact opposite?

Larry Comeau

Politicians too often make a habit of changing one’s tune.

Talking Turkey

Re: Turkey’s no support for Sweden to join NATO. What a farce this whole organization has become. What in the world is happening here? We have a country that I believe should not even be allowed a vote, as this country has been one of the most corrupt and evil dictatorships in the free world.

Ken Uhren

It’s an odd fit.
