Suspect arrested, charged after firearm pointed at youths in early April

A 27-year-old has been charged in connection with an incident in early April when a firearm was pointed at three youths.

On June 25, Winnipeg Police issued a media release asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects driving in the area of Logan Avenue and McPhillips on April 5. The driver stopped the vehicle and pointed a firearm directly at three youths who were walking by, police said.

A suspect was identified in this incident, and on Thursday an arrest warrant was executed at Headingly Correctional Centre. A 27-year-old, who was already in custody, was charged with 12 firearm-related offences. He remained detained in custody.
