EYE ON CRIME: Crime Stoppers ask for public's help in a pair of armed robberies

Winnipeg Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in identifying individuals who may have information about or been involved in a pair of armed robberies last month and in early September. To help generate tips, Crime Stoppers released surveillance photos on both incidents.

Crime Stoppers said that a victim was in the area of the first block of Keewatin Street on Aug. 25, when he said he was attacked by two unknown persons, one of whom was armed with a knife. The victim was knocked unconscious and then robbed of his motorized scooter, his wallet and his cell phone, he said. The victim sustained several injuries but luckily none were life threatening.

In another incident, an unknown person entered a retail store in the 700 block of Henderson Hwy on Sept. 5, and attended to the sales counter. The suspect allegedly produced a handgun and demanded cash and merchandise which was turned over by the store employee. The suspect then fled the area on foot.

The persons in these photos are of interest and may be able to provide police with information about these offences. These images are released for identification purposes only and the subjects may or may not be responsible for the crime indicated, Crime Stoppers said.
