Everett Patterson King, 23, has been identified as the victim of the homicide which occurred at around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, police said in a release.

The Homicide Unit has arrested and charged a 21-year-old man with second-degree murder.

Police said investigators determined the deceased and the accused were not previously known to each other when they attended a gathering at a residence in the 500 block of Mountain Avenue. After leaving, they had another encounter outside, where the victim was fatally shot. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries.
