Arrest made in Furby Street assaults

A 21-year-old man has been arrested after two adults who are related to him were assaulted with a knife in a home on the 400-block of Furby Street on Sunday evening, police said Monday.

Emergency crews were sent to the home on Sunday at about 6:30 p.m. Both adults were rushed to hospital, one in unstable condition, but has since been upgraded to stable, police said. Their injuries were non-life-threatening, police spokesman Const. Rob Carver said.

Two children who were in the home at the time were also transported to hospital.

"But that was unrelated to the assault," Carver said. "They had a private medical issue."

Paramedics apparently took note of the youths' issues and decided they needed to be checked at the hospital.

Charges are pending, said police.
