87-year-old cyclist dead in collision

Winnipeg police have identified the cyclist killed in a single-vehicle collision Friday afternoon.

Police said 87-year-old Leslie Freudenberg of Winnipeg was killed when he was cycling in the area of Hamilton Avenue and Wharton Boulevard around 2:40 p.m. and collided with a construction boom vehicle that was also travelling in the area.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said no charges are expected.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 204-986-6271.
