Gun call results in mischief charges

A male in his 40s faces mischief-related charges after police responded early Friday morning to reports of a man with a gun in the 300-block of Beliveau Road.

“The gun that he had was a replica gun — not a real gun — but it certainly made members of the public concerned for their safety and concerned about the situation and what this individual was up to,” said police spokesman Const. Jason Michalyshen.

Michalyshen said the first reports of the incident came in around 8:20 a.m., and the man was arrested at the scene and taken into custody a short time later.
