A fire two months ago that caused an estimated $2.4 million in damages was intentionally set.
Police said Thursday that the May 10 blaze, at a vacant building on the 500-block of Bannatyne Avenue, was indeed arson. Nobody was injured in the fire and, despite the significant damage, the building shouldn’t be a total loss, police previously said.
The police arson unit has since tied that fire with a smaller one that same day that caused minimal damage.
Police are now looking for three youth suspects spotted in the area that were wearing dark clothing that are believed to be involved in both arsons.
Anyone with information on either fire or the suspects’ identities are asked to call police at 204-986-6813 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
