Evidence at scene points to arson: Thompson RCMP

A fire that destroyed a home in Thompson on Monday is believed to have been deliberately set.

RCMP are investigating after the blaze, which broke out around 4 p.m., destroyed a home on McGill Place.

No one was in the home at the time of the fire. No injuries have been reported.

Evidence found at the scene has led investigators to call in the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner and probe the fire as an arson.

The RCMP Thompson Forensic Identification Section is also assisting with the investigation.

Damage is estimated at $225,000.
