Thugs used a hatchet to hold up a Grant Park area restaurant.
The trio burst into the lounge of a restaurant near Wilton Street and Grant Avenue around 1:10 a.m. Wednesday.
Two males, one armed with a knife and the other with a hatchet, approached staff behind the bar while a female stood guard by the entrance, police said.
Cash was handed over, but just before the trio took off, one of the robbers damaged some property inside the restaurant, police said.
No one was hurt in the incident, police said.
The suspects were wearing disguises. The first male was between 6-feet and 6-foot-4 with a slim build, and was wearing a black hoodie and light-coloured pants. The second male was about 5-foot-7 with an average build, wearing both lighter-coloured hoodie and pants.
The female was also about 5-foot-7 with an average build and a light-coloured jacket.
